Vietnam Trip Part 2

In this second part of the trip, I would like to introduce you the shopping paradise and the local dishes. Throughout the whole trip, we just have only one chance to taste the local food. I don’t know why they didn’t arrange us to taste the local foods. No freaking idea. Although just once, I love their foods! Vietnamese cuisine is really delicious. Their foods taste good and their dishes are not very oily; very healthy. Even though you eat a lot, you won’t feel fattening. It’s true. I didn’t take many photos of dishes because I’m too hungry. My mum did take them. The environment of this restaurant is fantastically tradition. It likes the past time where their homes are all decorated with bamboo and water fountain. They do have a pond which inside it has a lot of fishes. So, let me show you some photos I took.

The shopping paradise that I want to introduce is The Mekong River.

The Mekong is a trans-boundary river in Southeast Asia. It is the world's 12th-longest river[2] and the 7th-longest in Asia. Its estimated length is 4,350 km (2,703 mi),[2] and it drains an area of 795,000 km2 (307,000 sq mi), discharging 457 km3 (110 cu mi) of water annually.[3]

From the Tibetan Plateau this river runs through China's Yunnan province, Burma (Myanmar), Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. In 1995, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam established the Mekong River Commission to assist in the management and coordinated use of the Mekong's resources. In 1996 China and Burma (Myanmar) became "dialogue partners" of the MRC and the six countries now work together within a cooperative framework.

The extreme seasonal variations in flow and the presence of rapids and waterfalls in this river have made navigation difficult. The river is a major trading route linking China’s southwestern province of Yunnan to Laos, Burma (Myanmar) and Thailand to the south, an important trade route between western China and Southeast Asia.

We also visited Coconut Sweets Factory located at Mekong River. They show us how to produce the sweets and the whole process of making it. They use the whole part of coconuts without wasting them. For example, soap (good for allergic skin-typed) and sweets.

Besides, the place is famous with their Traditional Folk Music and Vietnam Tropical Local Fruit Village (Mytho). You can sit down listen music while tasting their local fruits which are very sweet and fresh. If you have chance to visit this beautiful country, you must go to Mekong River. You can get a lot of cheap stuffs here such as souvenirs and clothes. I regret I didn’t buy their pants because we never turn back. One thing you must remember. Once you see, you must buy it. Don’t wait! You will able to taste their local product which is the honey. They will let you try and it is really good! Taste really good! It is a must to try.

Then, we went to boat riding. People who send you from the start to the end is the old folks who staying nearby. So, when you ride it, you must remember to give them tips (some money). It is a good ride because you will able to see the nature beauty and the local villages while you are riding the boat. Love it so much! We will also get a free coconut from them! One person one.

Vietname Trip Part 1

Hello, I'm back.

First of all, I went to Vietnam for about 5 days with my mum and my brother. I had a seriously best time throw away the busy mind and just relax and go travel. Let me tell you. In many people’s point of view, Vietnam is a small country or not a high technology country. The places are dirty and they don’t have some so called high class heaven (shopping mall stuffs). The truth is, they do have beautiful places, nice people, nice shopping malls, branded streets and gorgeous historical buildings. The places are not like what we think it is, it is completely different than what you think about it. For example, the toilets, they are even cleaner than Malaysia. Their wet market’s toilet is even cleaner than us. It is very clean and dry. Not like in Malaysia they are smelly and wet. Toilets here in Malaysia are very stinks. It is the reason why I don’t like to go public toilets. People there are very nice and polite. For example, when you want to buy shoes and before you buy, you must try it. Sales girl or boy there will actually help you tie up the shoes ties for you when you are trying. In Malaysia, they just give you the shoes and you tie yourself. Am I correct? People, learn from them.

Let’s begin the story. In this first part, I would like to introduce you this place named The Former Presidential Palace or known as Reunification Palace (Vietnamese: Dinh Thống Nhất). It was built on the site of the former Norodom Palace, is a landmark in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It was designed by architect Ngô Viết Thụ and was the home and workplace of the President of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War. It was the site of the end of the Vietnam War during the Fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975, when a North Vietnamese Army tank crashed through its gates.

This is the full building of the palace.

Everything in the kitchen were imported from Japan.

Everything in this palace is all originally from the past. They are all preserved until now and be a museum and let visitors to visit. They do use this place for any functions and it will be closed. We were lucky enough to visit this place due to no function was held. Great place to visit.

It was way to hot for us. It was like 36 degree everyday.
