Travel: Day 2 at Bali (Part 1)

Day 2 at Bali

Me and my mum took some pictures before leaving the hotel because we still have lots of time.
The hotel environment is pretty and natural.
It’s like a forest.
Badly, I didn’t get to swim there because you know, you need to leave hotel early and you need wake up earlier to get yourself done.
So, yeah….

After we had our breakfast at hotel,
We departed from hotel to the next tourist attraction.
We visited Tempak Siring also known as Pura Tirta Empul.
This temple is built around a sacred spring. The temple and its two bathing places have been used by the Balinese for over 1000 years for good health and prosperity.

The local people truly believe that if a disease can’t be cured by a doctor,
They will head to this temple and pray and bath there. They even drink their holy water.
What’s so important about this water?

History of Pura Tirta Empul

Legend has it that the sacred spring was created by the god Indra. His forces had been poisoned by Mayadanawa, so he pierced the earth to create a fountain of immortality to revive them.

An inscription dates the founding of a temple at the site to 926 AD. Ever since - for more than a thousand years - the Balinese have come to bathe in the sacred waters for healing and spiritual merit.

What to See at Pura Tirta Empul

The Tirta Empul Temple includes the traditional Balinese split gate along with shrines to Shiva, Vishnu, Braham, Mt. Batur, and Indra. There is also a large open pavilion in the main courtyard, useful for relaxing in the shade.

But the main attraction here is a long rectangular pool carved of stone, filled with koi and fed by the sacred spring via 12 fountains. Worshippers first make an offering at the temple, then climb into the main pool to bathe and pray. Many collect the holy water in bottles to take home. Nearby there are two smaller pools fed by the spring.

Overlooking the temple on a hill above is a suprisingly modern building: the Government Palace, built in 1954. Originally a residence for Dutch officials, it was later used by former President Soekarno during his frequent trips to Bali.

Pura Tirta Empul is located in the village of Tampak Siring, accessible by public transportation from Ubud. The souvenir stands outside the temple specialize in the local craft, carved bone jewelry.

If you happen to visit this place,
Wear a pair of long pants.
If you’re wearing  shorts, you will be provided a salong to wear it.
It’s a holy place and we need to respect.

You must taste the water at the bathing site. It’s pure and fresh.
My mum went to taste it but I didn’t.
It was too many people at there.
All people are bathing in the bathing site. People mountain people sea.

Besides, it is a very good place to take good pictures. Haha!!

This is the holy I mentioned just now. It just flows out from the hole inside the pond. You can see when the water flows out, it's deep color but then it turns clear after that. It's a natural phenomenon. We don't have explanation what forms of that. It's just so magic !

As told by the tour guide, beside the hole where the water flows, it must be surrounded by the green leaves. It's not a leaves to be exactly, but I don't know what's that. We are just allowed to stand up there watch but not stand closer to see and touch.

This is the bathing site where people can drink the water and bath here. The water comes from the place I mentioned above. It is connect to here. People can bath here and drink the water fresh from the hole on the wall. People truly believe that this place is very holy. It can cures anything sickness that can't be cured by doctor. It's a legendary or what I don't exactly know.

Everyday, here will be very crowded. All people come here to shower and drink.

Every pond's water from originally from the first place I stated just now. The water that contains 2 tones. It's from the same sources.

To be continue.......

                Good Luck,
